FEE/NEW RATE MESSAGE

Dear Families,
We want to thank you for being part of our after-school program and for your continued trust in the care and enrichment we provide for your children. Mosaic’s mission is to provide quality care and raise much needed funds for PS. 20. For the past seven years, we’ve worked hard to keep our program affordable and accessible to families, maintaining our daily rate at just $30 (Tier 1) or $20 (Tier 2), reserving 20% of our seats for Scholarships, and absorbing enrollment fees.
However, as the cost of staffing, materials, and operations has increased over time, we’ve reached a point where we must adjust our pricing to continue delivering the high-quality experience your children deserve and to ensure the sustainability of our program.
Starting in the Fall 2025, we are increasing our daily rates for Tier 1 and Tier 2 enrollments by $1 per day. We will maintain our 20% Scholarships. We are also adding a $5/semester fee to cover our Stripe costs, which, up to now, the PTA has been absorbing at a rate of about $20,000 annually. These are the transaction fees we pay for credit card transactions.
These changes allow us to:
Maintain a strong, reliable, and well-trained staff
Provide quality programming and enrichment activities
Invest in better materials and supplies
Keep our space safe and well-maintained
We understand that any increase is meaningful, and we’ve worked to keep the adjustment as minimal and fair as possible. As a PTA program, all Mosaic funds, after covering program costs in full, are distributed back into the school and help provide resources as needed to the entire PS 20 community. If you have any concerns or questions, we are here to talk through them and support you in this transition.

Full Pricing 2025-2026:
Tier 1 enrollment (multi-day, full semester): $31/day
Tier 2 enrollment (multi-day, full semester): $21/day
Single-day drop-in fee: $36/day
Drop-in package: $165/5 drop-ins ($33 each)
Registration fee for Tier 1 and Tier 2: $5/semester
Registration fee for Scholarship families: $2/semester
Half-day on-site camps $45
Full day, no ticket, no bus camps $60
Full day ticketed and/or bus camp $80-$95
How to help the PTA save money when booking Mosaic classes:
We’re excited to let you know that our registration platform, Sawyer, now offers a new payment option: ACH bank transfers! This is a secure and budget-friendly alternative to using a credit card. When paying online, ACH only charges a one-time fee of $1.50, with a much lower transaction rate of 0.8% + 10¢ per payment, compared to credit cards, which charge 2.9% + 30¢. Last year, the PTA paid a significant amount in credit card fees–funds that would have been much better spent on our school! If you are able to do so, and especially if you're registering for multiple classes or paying larger amounts, we encourage you to switch to ACH.
